Barry M - Imperfection Perfection

Having recently hit the 30 mark, my priorities in makeup have started to change. In my teens it was about looking older. In my early twenties, it was all about experimenting, I was quite the magpie and no colour or product was out of the question. In my late twenties I settled into a look, which consisted of smokey eyes and glowing skin. Now, it's all about faking perfect skin and hiding those pesky under eye shadows.

I've tried numerous concealers and to be honest it's a product I resent having to buy. It's not fun, it doesn't get me noticed (not for the right reasons anyway). It's something I have usually regarded as a boring basic. However, finding a good concealer that ticks all the right boxes is more easily said than done. Few companies offer a decent number of shades. I want something multi purpose and I don't want to spend a fortune, only for it to turn out to be ineffective.

I've been using Benefit Erase Paste in Fair, but it doesn't seem to perform all day and for some reason doesn't seem to provide the best coverage, unless you apply a lot. The problem with doing that is, it seems to sink into the fine lines under my eyes as the day goes on. Honestly, I had never noticed these lines until I started using this concealer, coincidence perhaps, but I cannot say I'm happy about it.

Last week asos.com had a free international delivery offer on, so I ordered a few bits and bobs. Barry M Imperfection Perfection in Ivory was one of them. I tried it out this morning. This is light in consistency, yet concealed perfectly, particularly under the eyes. Blending could not have been easier, which is good news for the delicate skin, no tugging. It was less effective on some blemishes, but these have dried out and I have never encountered a concealer that could contend with those little nasties. Anyway, after 8 hours of wear, this concealer is still exactly where it should be. I am impressed.

The pen style applicator is perfect for popping into my handbag for touch ups, very handy indeed. Definitely a keeper.
